THIS month’s cartoon by Mark Jennings is a take on a news story, which has made the nationals in the U.K and elsewhere in the world including The Boston Times. Broccoli Bond is the story of market stall owner Stephen Phillips whose grandfather’s name was James Charles Bond. He was an S.O.E. (007) operative during the war and who served under the spy novel writer Ian Flemming. Coincidence?

It is no coincidence that Mark’s cartoons bear a slight similarity to one of Carmarthenshire’s finest cartoonists ‘Rog’. Mark spent some time at the Rog studios when he was younger and said that he was totally inspired by his work. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. We think you will agree that Mark has a talent for telling a story through his cartoons.
