Canolfan Magu is the brain child of two entrepreneur mums Christine Davies and Staci Sylvan. Along with a team of committed volunteers they have created a thriving wellbeing centre in Carmarthen town in a run down and unused Council building.

The centre is a Community Interest Company, run for and by the community. It opened its doors in August 2018 and now hosts over 30 community groups, therapists and practitioners including

  • Smoking cessation
  • Meditation
  • Doula services

  • Stroke physiotherapy
  • Creative writing
  • Dancing
  • Miscarriage support
  • Kids with additional needs support
  • Antenatal classes
  • Breastfeeding group
  • Osteopathy

There is a large hall avaliable for private hire and parties. There are 2 medium meeting rooms and 3 smaller therapy rooms. The centre also has a hub that is open for drop in on weekdays

The model of the business means that once the centre is up and running and all bills are paid 65% of the profit will go into an Access fund allowing people of low incomes or experiencing mental health issues to attend workshops and classes for free.
